Jackson Wijaya is an Indonesian businessman and investor. He built Paper Excellence into one of the leading pulp and paper companies in North America. He also brings his vast operational experience to private investments in real estate, healthcare, and technology across Asia and the Americas.

Raised in a family of entrepreneurial business leaders and investors, Mr. Wijaya set out at an early age to make his own mark. He grew Paper Excellence by acquiring best-in-class assets, investing in mills that would otherwise close, and innovating processes and materials. Today, the Paper Excellence Group, with estimated sales of $10 billion USD, encompasses worldwide industry leaders including Paper Excellence Canada, Fibre Excellence, Paper Excellence Brazil, Domtar, and Resolute Forest Products.

Across all facets of the business, Mr. Wijaya drives an ethos of impact. Paper Excellence has invested nearly $5 billion in local mills and communities, education and scholarship across North America, and global humanitarian and disaster relief. The company activates its commitment to Indigenous communities through job training as well as procurement and mill ownership opportunities. In 2022, Paper Excellence executed the largest private land conservation agreement in Canadian history, supplying 1,450 square kilometers of boreal forest to the Nature Conservancy of Canada for research and conservation.

An industrial engineer by training, Mr. Wijaya earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Michigan. He serves on the Executive Board for Asia at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Jackson Wijaya is an avid reader with a passion for world history, an enthusiastic fisherman, and a devoted family man who spends his free time with his wife and children.
