RICHMOND, BC – Paper Excellence Canada has contributed a $25,000 donation to the Abercrombie Fire Department. The donation supports the Abercrombie Fire Department’s tanker truck initiative.
“Often served by dedicated volunteers, community fire departments such as Abercrombie are vital to communities,” states Jean Francois Guillot, Paper Excellence Canada Vice President, Operations East.
The Abercrombie Fire Department neighbours Paper Excellence Canada’s Northern Pulp Nova Scotia Corporation Kraft pulp mill. Abercrombie Fire Department purchased the tanker truck with a large loan; this donation will assist the department in reducing that liability.
“This very generous donation by Paper Excellence Canada and ongoing support significantly contributes towards the safety of the residents of our community”, states Anna Svendsen President Abercrombie Fire Department.
“Our team at Northern Pulp has a close relationship with Abercrombie Fire Department,” states Bruce Chapman, General Manager, Northern Pulp Nova Scotia Corporation. “We are neighbours who routinely work together through a mutual aid agreement in addition to safety training measures, hazmat exercises and community events.”
The Abercrombie Fire Department tanker truck donation is one of four major corporate contributions awarded recently by Paper Excellence Canada.
