Paper Excellence Canada Leadership Team

The Vancouver-based management team has decades of diverse experience in the pulp and paper industry. Experience that helps develop employees’ talents and skills to excel and grow the company into the future. The leadership team directs employees by providing clarity of goals and objectives, supporting development, and offers direction and feedback.

Operating Committee

– Paper Excellence Canada and France

In the temporary absence of a CEO, the Operating Committee is responsible for the day-to-day operations, defining the company goals, strategy and investments. They also provide guidance and oversight for the overall operations. The Operating Committee consists of members from the corporate team.

Jean-François Guillot,

Vice President Operations – Northern Pulp, Prince Albert, France

Jean-François joined the company in March 2018. He has been a Pulp and Paper Engineer in the industry since 1988. He has held a variety of positions, ranging from Process Engineer to Vice President of Operations. He has also worked in various jurisdictions in Canada and the United Kingdom. Over the last 10 years, Jean-François has been involved in reorganizations of operations and turnarounds.

Stewart Gibson,

Vice President PE Fibre and Pulp Operations Coast

Stew joined the company in January 2019 and brings a wealth of experience as a senior manager and executive within the Pulp and Paper industry. He has 30 years of industry experience, first starting at Catalyst Paper in 1990.  He held roles as VP technology and Sourcing and as General Manager at the Powell River mill. He has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s in Pulp & Paper Engineering, and Executive Master of Business Administration.

Graham Kissack,

Vice President Environment, Health & Safety and Corporate Communication

Graham’ role as VP Environment, Health & Safety and Corp Comms focuses on EH&S plus government relations, First Nations and communications. He has been practicing as a specialist in the resource industry for 26 years managing environmental issues, sustainability practices, indigenous relations and branding work. He has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s in Pulp and Paper Engineering and an MBA.  Graham is involved with numerous ENGO groups on issues relating to climate change, recycling and deforestation.

Hamish Doughty,

Vice President Supply Chain

Hamish joined Catalyst Paper in 2003 and has worked in leadership roles in sales, procurement and supply chain. In 2015, he played a critical role in the integration of the Rumford and Biron mills, taking on responsibility for the entire purchase process. Hamish has a strong belief in continuous improvement by driving change in operations and supply chain, and effectively managing complex supplier challenges. He has a Bachelor’s in Political Studies from Queen’s University and MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Andy Reyes,

Vice President Operations – Mackenzie, Meadow Lake, Skookumchuck, Chetwynd and Projects

Andy is an industry veteran with almost 40 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry within operations. His depth of knowledge and expertise of technical improvements allows him to identify and advance operational efficiencies and successfully implement cost initiatives. He is also a coach and mentor to mill management teams. Andy has a Bachelor’s in Management and Industrial Engineering from Manila, Philippines.

Grace Wiranata,

Vice President Finance and Accounting

Grace ‘s previous positions held are President Director at PT Surya Citra Televisi, Finance Director at PT Surya Citra Media, Country General Manager at PT URC Indonesia and Finance Director at PT Kraft Foods Indonesia. She has a bachelor’s from Parahyangan Catholic University and MBA from Cleveland State University in Ohio.

Patrick Corriveau,

Vice President Paper and Packaging 

Patrick Corriveau joined Paper Excellence on June 15, 2020. He has responsibilities for Catalyst’s Paper Business Unit, which encompass all paper operations: Paper Sales and Marketing organization, Production Planning group, as well as the Port Alberni, Powell River, and Crofton paper and Packaging operations. Patrick has a degree in chemical engineering, and has held numerous leadership roles in Mill Management, Sales, and Operations within the industry.

Lloyd Carter,

Acting CIO and Vice President Mill Optimization

Lloyd started in June 2019 bringing 30 years of international industrial experience covering engineering, operations, projects, strategy and continuous improvement to the team. He has worked with teams around the world including the USA, Brazil, India and Indonesia to improve overall performance in operational excellence, maintenance processes and capital execution. Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Alberta.

Charles Guo,

General Manager Procurement

Charles joined Paper Excellence in Oct 2012 in Corporate Procurement. Before joining Paper Excellence, Charles worked as General Manager for a major pulp and paper company for four years, and prior to that he worked as purchasing director and purchasing manager for two US multinational companies. Charles has extensive experience in purchasing and supply chain management and has a PhD in engineering and MBA.  

Edwin Widjaja,

Vice President Pulp Sales

Edwin joined Paper Excellence in 2011 bringing 25 years of technical expertise and depth of knowledge in the pulp and paper industry. Edwin’s extensive experience of the commercial side of the industry was gained through his previous experience as head of Fiber Procurement at a global producer of pulp and paper products. Edwin holds a bachelor’s degree in business management.
